When Busta Rhymes cut his dreads off he sent them to his mother in a box, she still has it to this day.
Busta told "OnlyHipHopFacts" that when he shaved his dreads off, he had them sent to his mom to keep.
Apparently he had carried them for so long that he felt a kind of special attachment to them, so even after shaving them off, he couldn't just throw them away, and since it's awkward getting a bank safe deposit box for hair, he had them sent to the one person in this world he knows they would be safe with, his mother.
